As an "At Large" member of the School Board, I will work with all members of the Board of Supervisors (BOS) and all other members of the School Board to articulate the business case for fully funding FCPS budget requirements, identify and resolve problems, identify and capitalize on new opportunities, balance competing needs, and achieve desired outcomes that are in the overall best interest of all stakeholders in the FCPS.

The BOS provides nearly three-fourths of the FCPS $2.2 billion operating budget from county revenues. The School Board must compete with other county requirements for funding. To compete successfully, the School Board must continuously strive to improve the quality (effectiveness), productivity (efficiency), and return on investment (ROI) of the FCPS. The School Board must also justify and prioritize the FCPS budget requirements, establish positive working relationships with the BOS and other stakeholders, be the principal advocate for fully funding the FCPS budget needs, and be accountable to stakeholders for balancing competing requirements and achieving desired results.
